FRIDAY’S GAME HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: The Watertown Shamrocks fell to the Aberdeen Wings 4-3 on Friday night in Prairie Lakes Ice Arena in the first exhibition game of the 2025-26 season.
The Wings took an early lead with the only goal of the first period. Forward Easton Edwards scored at 13:28 of the first, assisted by Finn Safir. Despite the Shamrocks’ 12 shots on goal in the first, Wings’ goalie Willum Braun held them scoreless.
In the second period, the Shamrocks bounced back with two goals, and Shamrocks’ goalie, Mason Gurridge, held the Wings to none. Shamrock’s forward Junior Podein, assisted by Justin Obrochta and Grady Dimberio, scored the first goal at 18:30 of the second. Then, at 12:58 in the second, forward Jake Pietila, assisted by Vincent Curasi and Nathan DaSilva, doubled the Shamrocks’ lead to 2-1.
The Wings came out strong in the third period. At 18:36, forward Brody Dustin, assisted by Torran Orgitano, netted one, then at 11:31, defenseman Finn Safir, assisted by Easton Edwads and Gavin Reed, allowed the Wings to take a 3-2 lead. Shamrocks forward Tanner George, assisted by Zach Boren and Nathan DaSilva, tied the game less than a minute later. The score remained 3-3 til the end of the third, sending this game to overtime.
Wings’ forward Zan Spri-Leban, assisted by Willum Braun and Jibber Kuhl, scored in the final second of overtime despite the Shamrocks’ best efforts.

SATURDAY’S GAME HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: The Watertown Shamrocks fell to the Aberdeen Wings 4-1 on Saturday night at Odee Ice Arena in the second exhibition game of the 2025-26 season.
The Wings took an early lead in the first period at 19:10 of the period. Forward Taven James, assisted by Jack McDonough and Charlie Burchfield, netted the Wings’ first goal. At 7:27 of the first, forward Joe Rice, assisted by Owen Fask and Payon Struck, scored the Shamrocks’ only goal of the game.
In the second, Wings’ goalie Adam Dybal and Shamrocks’ goalie Jack Kavetsky held both teams scoreless.
The Wings capitalized on opportunities in the third, scoring three more goals. At 16:58, Forward Easton Edwards, assisted by Jibber Kuhl and Zan Spri-Leban, made the score 2-1. At 8:57, Forward Taven James, assisted by Owen Pitters and Charlie Burchfield, gained his second goal of the game and extended the lead to 3-1. At 7:53 of the third, Defenseman Herman Berggren scored the final goal unassisted.
A lack of scoring opportunities in the third period held the Shamrocks to only one goal throughout this game.

Next Up: This upcoming weekend, the Watertown Shamrocks will host the NAHL’s Midwest Division Faribanks Ice Dogs in Prairie Lakes Ice Arena for a set of exhibition games. This will be the first time that these two teams have faced off in either exhibition or regular-season play. Last season, the Ice Dogs finished third in the Midwest division, with a 37-19-3-3 record.
The Shamrocks will aim to secure their first exhibition victory before opening the regular season. Both Friday, September 12, and Saturday, September will be 7:00 puck drops in Prairie Lakes Ice Arena.
