Shamrocks Earn Weekend Split After OT Thriller

FRIDAY’S GAME HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: The Watertown Shamrocks defeated the Austin Bruins on Friday night in Prairie Lakes Ice Arena in the tenth regular-season game of the 2025-26 season. 

Friday’s game was an intense, fast-paced matchup. The first goal came at 1:50 in the first for the Bruins, with Zander Lipsett assisted by Liam Bayati and Alvin Elisson. 

The second period stayed scoreless for both teams. Shamrocks’ goalie Mason Gudridge was able to save all 11 Bruins shots that period. 

The game stayed 1-0 until the final seven seconds of the third period. Roy Chunge, assisted by Joe Rice and Justin Obrochta, found the back of the net to tie the game at one, sending the game to overtime. 

At 3:36 of overtime, the Bruins took a high-sticking minor, giving the Shamrocks a 4-on-3 opportunity. Junior Podein, assisted by Zach Boren and Erick Comstock, was able to capitalize on this opportunity and put the Shamrocks on top 2-1.

SATURDAY’S GAME HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: The Watertown Shamrocks fell to the Austin Bruins on Saturday night in Prairie Lakes Ice Arena in the eleventh regular-season game of the 2025-26 season. 

The Bruins captured three goals in the first, two of them on the power play. The Shamrocks had seven shots on net, but were held scoreless. 

In the second, Gavin Hruza, assisted by EJ Paddington and Matsvei Marshchanok, made it 4-0. At 8:33, Justin Obrochta, assisted by Joe Rice and Noah Sergott, but the Shamrocks on the board.

In the third, Owen Chartier, assisted by Erick Comstock and Zach Boren, cut the score to 4-2. In the final seconds, the Bruins hit an empty net shot, making the final score 5-2.
