WATERTOWN SHAMROCKS (20-16-1-1) vs. ABERDEEN WINGS (25-11-2-2)

The Watertown Shamrocks will play away and at home against the Aberdeen Wings on Friday, at 7:15 p.m. at Odde Ice Center, and Saturday, at 7:00 p.m. in Prairie Lakes Ice Arena. It will be the Shamrocks’ thirty-ninth and fortieth regular-season games of the 2025-26 season. This is the third regular-season matchup between these teams.
THIS SEASON:
So far this season, the Shamrocks have gone 1-2 against the Wings in their three games played.
In the first set of games, the Wings swept the Shamrocks at Odde Ice Center and in Prairie Lakes Ice Arena. On Friday, after the Shamrocks started the scoring in the first period, the Wings dominated the rest of the game. With one to end the first period, three in the second, and two in the third, the Wings took a 1-6 victory. Saturday was a similar story, with the Shamrocks starting the scoring again in the first period. Four Wings’ goal in the second period gave them the lead. Despite the Shamrocks scoring two more in the third period, the Wings walked away with a 3-6 victory.
In the third game, the Shamrocks defeated the Wings at Odde Ice Center. In this Wednesday game, the Wings netted two goals in the first period to put them up 2-0. In the second, the Shamrocks scored two of their own to make it 2-2. In the third, Owen Chartier scored two goals with Zach Boren netting one to close this game out in a 5-2 Shamrocks victory.
WATERTOWN SHAMROCKS:
The Shamrocks will enter this division matchup after being swept in a two-game series against the Bismarck Bobcats, 2-3 on Friday and 4-5 (OT) on Saturday.
On Friday, both teams were held scoreless in the first 20 minutes. In the second period, the Bobcats got two quick goals in the final two minutes. The third period started with another Bismarck goal to make it 0-3. At 15:04, Kyle Greene started the scoring, and shortly after, Erick Comstock scored, but it was not enough to grab this victory. The Bobcats took it 2-3. On Saturday, the Shamrocks had two different goal scorers in Owen Fask and Brody Josselyn, but the Bobcats had three goals to make it 2-3 after one. In the second, the Shamrocks reclaimed the lead with two goals, one from Payton Struck and one from Antons Macijevskis. In the third, the Bobcats tied it back at four, sending the game to overtime. Theodore Richardson scored his third goal of the game for the Bobcats to clinch a 4-5 OT win.
The Shamrocks have won three of their last five games and currently sit in fourth place in the Central Division.
ABERDEEN WINGS
The Wings will enter this division matchup after splitting two home games against the Minot Minotauros, 1-2 on Friday and 6-3 on Saturday.
On Friday, it was a quiet game between these two teams. Minot scored in the first period, with a power play goal in the final minutes. In the second, Aberdeen scored its only goal of the night less than a minute into the period. In the third, the Minotuaros scores with less than a minute left to take a 1-2 victory. On Saturday, Aberdeen dominated the game. The Wings scored two goals in the first period, with the Minotauros responding with two more to end the period. The second period was all Aberdeen with three goals. In the third period, Minot scored one to begin the period, but Aberdeen scored the empty netter to secure a 6-3 win.
The Wings have won four of their last five games and currently sit in third place in the Central Division.

SHAMROCKS:
- Zach Boren currently leads the team with 20 goals and 37 points. He had one assist on the weekend.
- Kyle Greene has 21 points on the season and had a goal and an assist last Friday.
- Joe Rice leads the team with 23 assists and had an assist on Friday.
WINGS:
- Matthew Martin currently leads the team in points and assists, and is tied for first in goals. He had a goal and two assists last Saturday.
- Owen Pitters is tied for the team lead in goals and has 45 points this season. He had an assist on Friday night.
- Jibber Kuhl has 37 points on the season, and tallied two goals and an assist on Saturday.
