Watertown, SD — The Watertown Shamrocks have added goaltender Phileas Lachat from the USHL’s Waterloo Black Hawks, Head Coach and General Manager Casey Kirley announced today.
Lachat, who stands at 6’3″, joins the Shamrocks after starting the season in the USHL with Waterloo, seeing just a trio of games. A native of Delémont, Switzerland, Lachat is in the midst of his first year playing hockey in North America. In three starts with Waterloo this season, he posted a record of 1-1-1 with a 3.32 goals against average and a .857 save percentage.
Prior to coming to North America, he has tended the net for several teams in his native Switzerland at the U17 and U20 levels. Lachat has also appeared in international competition for Switzerland the last two years.
