Watertown, SD — The Watertown Shamrocks have acquired forward Payton Struck from the Minnesota Wilderness in a deal prior to their opening preseason game in exchange for future assets.

“Payton has a high-end offensive skill set, matched with a big frame and an affinity for physical play,” said Shamrocks head coach and general manager Casey Kirley. “He is a proven producer at the junior level and will play a significant role in all situations.”

Struck, a native of Rogers, Minnesota, produced six goals and 28 total points last season in his first year with the Wilderness and the North American Hockey League. Prior to joining the Wilderness, the 2005 born right-shot forward spent a season split between NCDC with the Ogden Mustangs and the BCHL’s Vernon Vipers. As a high school for the Rogers Royals, he appeared in 65 games across three varsity seasons and recorded 39 points.

He stands at an imposing 6’2″ and weighs 185 lbs. Struck is expected to join the team shortly.
