Watertown, SD — In their second deal of the day, the Watertown Shamrocks have acquired defenseman Roy Chung from the Springfield Jr. Blues in exchange for forward Mason Grinnell.
Chung, who has not played in a game in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) yet this season, is a 2006 born player with both NAHL and United States Hockey League (USHL) experience.
“Roy is a dynamic defenseman,” said Casey Kirley, the Shamrocks head coach and general manager. “He possesses high-end skating and puck moving skills, and uses deception with both his feet and his hands.”
Chung has spent the last two seasons with the Jr. Blues playing in 91 career games scoring six goals and pocketing 20 assists. He also appeared in 8 USHL games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks in 2022-23. He is a former 2022 USHL Draft Pick in the third round, 35th overall, by Muskegon and a 2021 WHL US Prospects Selection by the Prince George Cougars.
A native of Rolling Hills Estates, California, Chung stands at 6’0″, weighs 179 lbs, shoots right handed.
