Watertown, SD — The Watertown Shamrocks Head Coach and General Manager Casey Kirley announced today that the club has extended a tender to 2007 born defenseman Andrew Smulkstys.
Smulkstys, a native of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, is currently in the midst of his 18U season with the Chicago Fury AAA program. He becomes the second member of the Chicago Fury squad to tender with the Shamrocks this season; joining Owen Fask who tendered two weeks ago.
“Smulkstys is a good two-way defenseman, who can play in all situations,” Kirley said. “He contributes offensively with his vision and puck skills, and his skating, size and reach prove him to be a solid defender.”
This season, Smulkstys has also appeared in a single game for the Bismarck Bobcats as an affiliate player. He was also drafted by the Fargo Force in the 2023 USHL Draft in the 23rd round.
