Watertown, SD — The Watertown Shamrocks, in conjunction with the Aberdeen Wings, Bismarck Bobcats, Minot Minotauros and Buffalo Wild Wings are proud to announce the start of the Dakota Buffalo Cup.
Starting this season, 2025-26, as part of a three year agreement, all regular season games between the four Dakota teams will count towards the Buffalo Wild Wings Dakota Buffalo Cup standings. The standings and point system will operate the same as the general North American Hockey League’s. No additional games beyond the already scheduled regular season matchups will be added the Dakota Buffalo Cup schedule.
“We are thrilled to be apart of this announcement for the brand new Buffalo Wild Wings Dakota Buffalo Cup,” said Watertown Shamrocks President Ryan Bisgard. “The Dakota Buffalo Cup will help add to the already existing rivalries between all of the Dakota teams and will add to the fan and player experience. We are super grateful to the staffs in Bismarck, Minot and Aberdeen, along with Buffalo Wild Wings for helping put together this partnership.”
The Shamrocks will begin Buffalo Wild Wings Dakota Buffalo Cup action this weekend in their season opening series with the Aberdeen Wings. The Shamrocks’ full Dakota Buffalo Cup schedule can be found below.
