Shamrocks Capture Two Wins over Bulls in North Iowa

FRIDAY’S GAME HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: The Watertown Shamrocks defeated the North Iowa Bulls on Friday night at Mason City Arena in the forty-seventh regular-season game of the 2025-26 season.

On Friday night, Watertown scored first with a goal by Jake Pietila, assisted by Daniel Halonen and Noah Sergott, at 17:02 in the first period. At 6:09, Vitaliy Korolyuk, assisted by Ivan Bercik and Denis Hodas, tied it up at 1-1. At 3:08, the Bulls’ Michael Malatino, assisted by Denis Kuzmenkov and Carter Davis, scored a power play goal to pull ahead. In the final seconds of the first, Zach Boren, assisted by Kyle Greene and Joe Rice, evened the score for the second period. 

The second and third periods were all Shamrocks. Newcomer Daniel Halonen, assisted by Grady Dimberio and Erick Comstock, scored his first NAHL goal at 16:40 in the second period. Boren, assisted by Owen Chartier and Greene, scored his second goal of the game on the power play at 5:46 of the second period. In the final second of the third period, Jordan Gudridge, assisted by Rice and Comstrock, scored on an empty net to earn the 5-2 victory.

SATURDAY’S GAME HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: The Watertown Shamrocks secured a victory over the North Iowa Bulls on Saturday night at Mason City Arena in the forty-eighth regular-season game of the 2025-26 season.

The Bulls went up 2-0 in the first period. At 7:05, Vitaliy Korolyuk, assisted by Denis Hodas and Ivan Bercik, scored the first goal. At 3:56, Niko Russ, assisted by Zachary Howard and Bercik, earned a power play goal to make it 0-2 Bulls. 

At 14:51 of the second period, the Shamrocks got their first goal of the night from Daniel Halonen, assisted by Jake Pietila and Noah Sergott. The Bulls came back with a goal of their own at 8:00, with Jack Holland, assisted by Zachary Howard and Denis Kuzmenkov. At 5:36, Justin Bartley, assisted by Jordan Gudridge and Antons Macijevskis, scored on the power play to end the period 2-3 Bulls. 

At 13:50 of the third period, Bartley, assisted by Kyle Greene and Erick Comstock, earned his second goal of the night to tie it up at 3-3. Shortly after, Macijevskis, assisted by Payton Struck and Memphis Wilcox, found the back of the net to put the Shamrocks up 4-3. In the final seconds of the third, Brody Dietz, assisted by Korolyuk and Hodas, tied the game up to send it to overtime. 

After a scoreless overtime, this game went to a shootout. Owen Chartier scored first for the Shamrocks, and Hodas scored first for the Bulls. Both goalies then saved the next two shooters, but Erick Comstock scored on the fourth try to give the Shamrocks a 5-4 shootout victory.
