Watertown Splits home series with North Iowa

FRIDAY’S GAME HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: The Watertown Shamrocks fell to the North Iowa Bulls on Friday night in Prairie Lakes Ice Arena in the thirty-third regular-season game of the 2025-26 season.

On Friday night, despite Watertown’s 31 shots on goal, they were shut out by North Iowa. The first two periods were very even, with both teams remaining scoreless. In the third, North Iowa pulled ahead with three goals throughout the period from three different goal scorers, then an empty net goal.

SATURDAY’S GAME HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: The Watertown Shamrocks defeated the North Iowa Bulls on Saturday night in Prairie Lakes Ice Arena in the thirty-fourth regular-season game of the 2025-26 season.

The Shamrocks did the bulk of their scoring in the first period. At 17:00, Sebastian Haborak, assisted by Vincent Curasi and Jordan Gudridge, scored his first goal of the night. At 16:29, J. Gudridge, assisted by Owen Fask and Owen Chartier, made it 2-0 Watertown. In the final minute of the first, Payton Struck, assisted by Andrew Smulkstys and Antons Macijevskis, secured the third goal of the period. 

In the second, North Iowa had one lone goal. Fugi Suzuki, assisted by Vitaliy Korolyuk and Brody Dietz, made the score 3-1. 

In the third period, the Bulls tried to stage a comeback with two power play goals. At 18:30, Denis Kuzmenkov, assisted by Michael Malatino and Korolyuk, netted their second goal of the game. At 13:24, Malatino, assisted by Dietz and Kuzmenkov, tied the game at 3-3. At 5:58, Haborak, assisted by Grady Dimberio and J. Gudridge, got his second goal of the game to give the Shamrocks their 4-3 win.
